GPS WiFi Router
A Florida company that has developed G-Fi, the first mobile network/GPS router. G-Fi can stream military precision GPS to any WiFi enabled device. The GPS coordinates have an accuracy of 3-5 meters. The system can connect to up to 200 devices and provide GPS based on standard WiFi protocol to multiple devices simultaneously because it is a router. Supported devices include iPhones and iPod Touch and any device operating Microsoft Windows Mobile, Microsoft Windows XP/Vista, Linux, Unix, Mac OS X, or any device that supports ad hoc WiFi. The router device is 3.08 x 2.91 x 0.69 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces. The device makes use of 802.11b/g connectivity at ranges over 100 feet using a lithium ion battery with a five hour lifetime. The company is working with a satellite navigation software company to provide GPS navigation to iPhones.
