Ricoh Company, Ltd has developed a revolutionary new camera, called Theta, that allows users to capture complete spherical images (for example, sky above to ground below, and 360 degrees surrounding the camera). When viewed the image can be rotated and zoomed, allowing the whole scene to be explored in detail. The camera is small and lightweight (weighing only 3.3 ounces), and can also capture location information by connecting via Bluetooth to a smartphone and using the phone’s GPS information.
