Researchers from the Oak Ridge National Lab and New Mexico State University have fabricated a single layer of hexagonal boron nitride. Hexagonal boron nitride, also known as white graphene, is an electrical insulator and is more transparent than traditional graphene. The material is also non-reactive, has high mechanical strength, and is a thermal conductor. The material has potential use in solar cells, fuel cells, batteries, and thin electronic devices.
